The Art of Giving (and Receiving)

Published on 19 September 2024 at 11:55

According to Oxford Dictionary giving is  "handing something to somebody so that they can look at it, use it or keep it". So when we are engaging in the art of giving we are fully immersed in the other (the receiver). We are fully thinking of them, with the knowing that what we are giving is no longer "ours" and now has became something the other has. However they choose to use or apply in their lives.

When we are immersed in the art of giving, another natural process is occurring, where the giver is also engaging in the receiving of the action being delivered from themselves. As a giver, I am engaging in the art of receiving my full focus by writing down this knowledge to you reading (receiving) it. In whichever way you are receiving it, I have no control over - yet when I stay in my focus and allow my being to just focus on the "giving", hence my writing, I am enabling the process through the flow of the wisdom being shared from the being. And if this is not receiving as well as giving, I don't know what is.

Each time we are engaging in giving we are indeed receiving and whenever we are engaged in receiving we are indeed giving. What this means is, that if we haven't developed the capacity to receive with grace, then we cannot truly give with grace as well. IF we haven't met our fullest selves, we cannot give with our fullest capacities, nor could we receive with that immensity; which can then create our capacity to hold life, experience life in our fullest domains.

So if you are still here with me, reading and receiving, I encourage you to allow yourself to receive your own breath - counting gently till 10 - feeling the ground or seat that supports you. This is an art, to receive your own breath whilst you give yourself your own presence.

Thank you for being here with me soul family.
